Mine Hosts

If you like helping people discover new things and seeing the excitement on their faces of finding a real treasure, then mine hosting might be for you.

We need two campers (preferably couples) for 15- and 30-day periods to help our fee dig customers get started, and to take care of sales at the mine.  Mine Hosting is a two-person job early in the day, but only requires one person the remainder of the day, leaving one of you to dig for opals.  You and your partner host for six days, and have Mondays off; the mine is closed on Mondays, except for shareholders.

We provide RV parking, water, electricity (30 Amp; bring an adapter for your 50-Amp cord), wi-fi access, refrigerators and freezers, washer and dryer, shower, revolving lending library, and sewer dump.  The only TV reception in Virgin Valley is via satellite; if you have one, bring it along.  It is actually a rather complete campground, and there's always shareholders available to answer questions.  Plus, you can dig for opals every day, just like our shareholders.

We will give you a Host Manual, which provides all the general information on the Virgin Valley, the mines, and your hosting experience with us.  It serves as a reference resource during your hosting.  We will stay with you the first few days, to make sure you are comfortable with the routines (it's really pretty simple; all our shareholders get to volunteer for hosting when needed.)

You MUST drive or trailer your RV directly to the mill site (turn left at the road split just beyond the campground and proceed 1/4 mile) -- do NOT go directly to the mine with RVs or trailers!
